Alan Freeman used to use just the "ullo" clip quite often on his programmes (in amongst all the other sounbites he used to use (a mixture of classic (even then) rock and dynamic classical bits ).

well that just shows what a lyin' wank*r he is. I doubt if he even saw Mott anyway.

The point is that when he dissed MTH , this was for Midnight Lady a year or so before ATYD was even conceived. So he is talking out of his arse again.

TB certainly twists a tale to suit himself. I recall when Tessa left him and he was almost suicidal - almost broke him.

I also recall during the seventies when he mentioned how he had records out in the sixties but they did not sell "because I sang with perfect pitch and people wanted singers who were slightly out of key". Actually they didn't sell because they werer crap.

He was a kind of David Hasselhoff before DH came along. (except that I think that DH actually laughs at himself)

Lounge Lizard-Deep Tracks. The DJ mentioned that Ian has put out some of his best albums since 2000 and also mentioned that his be one(by title) will be out soon.

One of the Kemp brothers from Spandau Ballet nominated "A nightingale sings..." as one of his two "inheritance tracks" on Radio 4 just now. He chose IH's version, mentioned "Strings Attached", and the track was played, with Kemp saying what the song means to him. Alluded to Hunter's "London accent".

Great to hear it on real radio and great to hear the DJ say All The Way To Memphis.

I believe there is a budget MTH sampler that makes the same mistake. Damn the details!

I heard "when I'm President", "up and Running" followed by ATWFM on 107.1 out of Ann Arbor on the Martin Bandyke Show this evening around 5:30. When I'm President sounded great on the radio, I hope this is part of the promotion from the new label.
