Friday night show now also listed as postponed. Not looking good at this point. :(

Unfortunately that doesn't mean too much. Winery isn't canceling things until day before. However, they did just email me and say event is on as of now and they will let me know if any changes. They said that about the preceding events also, all of which were cancelled, so take it with a grain of salt and pray!

Yesterday morning they canceled tonight's show and said Friday's show was still on.

This morning they canceled Friday's show and said Ian's show is still on.

So I guess we will find out tomorrow morning whether Ian's show is canceled.

I got to admit I'm not too impressed with City Winery/Boston so far. My wife checks daily and they insist Ian's show will go on.

Looks like the concert has been cancelled, it has just disappeared from the City Winery upcoming events calendar.

My wife just an email saying the show's "postponed". Slightly pissed off as 10 people were going to the show. Some have traveled from a good distance too.

They went out of business here in Napa. Think of if, the City Winery could not make it in the heart of wine country.

It looks like they spend too much time "wining" about building delays.

I hate to rub it in, but my wife and I are going to see the band at the Tupelo in NH on 11/25.

Really glad I have gotten tickets for Fairfield next week. If a future Boston date is really made and I can swing it will try to get back there and go with my kids as we had planned. Bummer this weekend though

Sorry to all you hoping to see Ian at Boston, including Rick's guests. I hope that they realise that the cancellation was not Ian's fault.

The way that The Winery have handled this (leaving it all until well past the "last minute") is the total opposite of the Japanese promoters (who cancelled all on a slight whim - just in case).

I feel for you all.

I'm hoping the rescheduled show will work out for all of us. My kids and their iognificant others haven't seen Ian before. And no one can put Ian at fault for this. Maybe I should have volunteered my back yard. It looks like it's going to be a beautiful Autumn day!

All,

I found out while I was on the road the Montclair on Friday.

I would urge anyone in the Boston area to check out the Tupelo Music Hall in Derry NH next Saturday; it;s only 45 minutes from the City Winery and a easy drive up I93.

It's a brand new venue in a new location - great sound, great view from everywhere, and they now have a bar!

There are plenty of good seats still available. I've seen a few shows there since they opened the new location earlier this year (in fact I'm seeing Todd Rundgren there on Wednesday in addition to Ian on Saturday.)

In connection with Justin's post about the Tupelo appearance on 11/25 in Derry, NH :

In the past, there have been numerous posts about IH's lack of recognition, etc. Well, NH has a free "alternative" weekly paper called the Hippo. It focuses on local stuff including a lot on musical entertainment, movies, the arts in general, dining and the like. In this week's issue there is a feature piece on Stephen Kellogg, who plays at the Tupelo on 11/24. He generally plays solo folk influenced material, but has just put a band together to show "he still knows how to rock and roll". They assuredly would not be overly tight as a recently formed band.

I got the Hippo today figuring they'd have a piece on Ian Hunter and the Rant Band's Tupelo show on 11/25. But I was wrong again and IH is overlooked again. I mean, who would you or a truly knowledgeable weekly magazine write the Tupelo piece on? Oh well. :x
