The legendary Paul McCartney at AAMI Stadium in Melbourne :-) Only the fourth time he has toured Australia (1964 with the Beatles, 1975 with Wings and 1993 solo) and only the second time I've seen him after a fantastic show in 1975. I have tickets a few rows from the front courtesy of a relative who invited me as their guest :-)

Yesterday I also got tickets for a very intimate show by Neil & Liam Finn at Meeniyan Town Hall (270 capacity) in February :-)

Drivin n Cryin Willies Lex Ky Tues Night (if the creek don't rise)

Somehow I suspect there will be a bit less pyro on display than what is delivered during a Sir Paul show, but I'd love to see 'em cover "Live and Let Die"...

I don't really go along with those pyro displays at gigs. What is says to me is that the music is not good enough to stand on it's own so it needs some visual assistance.

Sparks have just announced some more shows for the UK in May. Unfortunately I don't know what my travel plans are this year yet. I saw them in duo mode in London in October 2012 but haven't seen them in band mode yet. A Melbourne based friend saw them in Tokyo a few months ago and said it was a fantastic show.

Gordon, the stars might be in alignment for you. Their Glasgow show is just three days after the Steve Harley Glasgow show you mentioned elsewhere a few days ago :-)

Thanks for the tip, Tom... we travel home on the day after the Sparks gig at the Glasgow ABC... but it may be doable.

I foresee a very late night... show ends at 11... drinks afterward... need to be at the airport at 6 am... so why go to bed at all? 8)

Aye - should have caught them before Christmas but the old 'apathy' set in and a 200+ mile round trip with overnight stay was passed on...

Which was an almighty mistake on my part - having listened to the Sin Dogs EP and caught a few youtubes I can't wait for Spring dates to be announced [due before the end of Jan]...

Beat like a steel factory drop hammer - guitar that lights up a night sky - vocals like flames from a page...
