 Re: What are you reading
maybe - with a little help from my friends? That stupid Jordan/Katie Price is on about her 12th book now and I don't think she has actually written a word herself yet. "I think of the ideas and someone else translates that into words" G

 Re: What are you reading
Interesting thought, lots of people criticise Islam etc, but has anyone on here actually read the Koran?

 Re: What are you reading
Most people who criticize it probably haven't read it or they might realize half the stuff people are saying about it isn't true.

 Re: What are you reading
I have not even read The Bible - even tho' my Grandad was a Methodist Preacher - and I went to Sunday School until I was 16 - and studied the Philosophy of Religion at a higher level - and considered a life as a Vicar...

 Re: What are you reading
Keef, Life, arrived yesterday and already unable to put it down and he's still just about 10.
Do any other 50 somethings from the UK remember Joey books from their childhood??
Sounds like he was living the life of the fictional character.

 Re: What are you reading
Hello all,
I just finished 'Please Kill Me' by Legs McNeil. It's an oral history of the (mostly USA) punk rock scene told entirely through quotes from the many people interviewed, all the way from the Warhol/Velvet Underground scene all the way up to Jerry Nolan's death in 1992. It covers everything from the VU to the MC5 to Iggy to The Dolls to Patti Smith to The Ramones to the Sex Pistols.

Million Dollar Les Paul by Tony Bacon. I didn't realize that only @ 1450 Bursts were manufactured between 1958 & 1960.

 Re: What are you reading
Does anyone have a Kindle? I swore that I would always want to hold an actual book but now I'm not so sure. The price has dropped so thats good, Christmas is coming up and I can never think of anything for the family to get me so I think it may be time. If you have one, tell me how you like it and anything else that might be important. Thanks

 Re: What are you reading
I can't see the point of a machine that shows books when you can get loads of actual books cheaper - when I go on holiday I take a book or two and if I lose them then not a problem - if I took a Kindle or something similar and lost that I'd be a bit more upset.
Musically, I prefer the real cd to a download and am the same with books - though I do take an iPod with me when away but that is because it gives me a choice of music - if I had a Kindle I'd still be reading just the one or two books, I wouldn't put the Kindle on 'shuffle' and read random chapters from my book collection.

 Re: What are you reading
It's all personal choice - personally I don't like carrying around a £109 machine (it has been advertised all night on TV) when I can have a £1 pile of paper ... or a £4 pile of paper for popular books
