 Re: What are you reading
You're supposed to clock them over the head with the book. That's what I did.

 Re: What are you reading
Finished this month's (vol 11, no. 2, Feb 21010). Weirdly enough, one of the answers was Akhenaton (see Kevin's Egypt posts). Seeing as this month's prize looks Ok, I think I'll send off for a crack at it. LMK if you want any answers. Mick (in smart-arsed mode)

" Pharaoh who introduced, with his wife Nefertiti, a monotheist cult to Egypt." So two clues really. Mick

 Re: What are you reading
Excellent article in this month's Vanity Fair on the relationship between Johnny Cash and Rick Rubin, who produced the 5 American series albums that Cash ended his career with. Hard to imagine the Man in Black teaming up with the co-founder of Def Jam Records and the producer of acts like Jay-Z, but the albums speak for themselves. Looking forward to American V. http://www.vanityfair.com/culture/featu ... ash-201002

 Re: What are you reading
I just picked up Jack Bruce's biography, "composing jack bruce". Nice discography and live show list in the back. I just realized how many times I missed his bands in Boston. Damn. Now I should start from the begining and find out all about the little Scotsman who started out playing cello because he was too small to tackle the double bass!

 Re: What are you reading
'Willie Mays' is my favourite song on the latest Terry Anderson & The Olympic Ass Kickin' Team album - I think it is about some baseball drug taking cheat being compared to a legend called Willie Mays but didn't know if it was about a real person.

 Re: What are you reading
Richard West's book on Chaucer. Not bad at all.
Instead of a straightforward biography there's plenty of scene-setting, covering the background, recent history, his influences, etc. as well as where he went and what he got up to. Haven't read much about him before, and i didn't know he was accused of rape (charges later dropped).

 Re: What are you reading
Mays is real and between 1951 and 1973 entertained American sports fans with his strength, speed and daring play on the basepaths and in the field. The book is currently No. 8 on the New York Times bestseller list, so I'm not the only old guy reading it.

 Re: What are you reading
I've not seen Uncut for ages - I thought they must have stopped issuing it but I guess I'm just not looking well enough. Which Dan Baird track is on the cd ?
