 Re: What are you reading
Backstage Past by Barry Fey
He's a promoter - he worked with the Stones, U2, Zeppelin... no MTH yet, no index so have to read the entire book but lots of gossip and inside info - from someone who is credible. The best part is about how Ticketmaster & their scalping division TicketsNow work. Glad the bands are getting a bigger share of the $ but a bit ticked that it's still such a con.

 Re: What are you reading
It's always killed me how Ticketmaster and other outlets can charge whatever they want but I can get arrested if I sell a ticket for more than the advertised price.

Cause they're legalised touts, whatever that is. Robbing bastards.
Just finished Michael Connelly's "The Scarecrow". No Harry Bosch this time, but his usual high standards are maintained.

Damn, you read a lot of books! Do you read the entire book or the cliff notes?

 Re: What are you reading
Always read a lot. Usually with headphones on while I'm listening to something or the other. An ideal little cocoon of relaxation.
Way better than watching telly, as you'd know if you saw some of the shite that's on over here these days. Mick

 Re: What are you reading
Well Mick, Harry is back in the latest MC called The Drop. I am reading 2 of Jeff Lindseys "Dexter" series. I got hooked on the show and I went to the local used book store and got 2 hardcovers for $12. Much darker than the series which is hard to believe but very readable and enjoyable. Guess I need to scout out some more of the series

 Re: What are you reading
Will look forward to that. MC maintains a very high standard, and I haven't been disappointed yet.
Now in history mode: Richard III, David Baldwin, 2012.
Read a lot about Richard III, and although we'll never know the truth my personal view is that he was absolutely slandered by the Tudors, and later the Victorians. As ever, the winners get to tell the story and the losers are a bunch of twats.

 Re: What are you reading
The Dexter series by Jeff Lindsay. Much darker than the tv series ( if possible ) Pretty good reads although some endings seem to be a bit rushed but all in all a good read

In the Express today, "Why should they rock and roll over?" http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/314 ... -roll-overAbout older groups/artists making comebacks. Apparently the author loved the MTH reunion. Quite right, too! Mick

 Re: What are you reading
Stephen King - Under the Dome
A bit like the Stand, but in a goldfish bowl. With a dollop of Lord of the Flies thrown in. Fast paced compared to some of King's more indulgent stuff. Some good sociological perspectives about what happens when a community disintegrates, but they don't get in the way of the story. Recommended.

 Re: What are you reading
Tried to read "I, Doll" by Arthur (Killer) Kane, but it was too stream of consciousness. Interesting, but too much work - was trying to find the bit about the Mott/Aerosmith afterparty mentioned in one of the pictures, but no luck on that.
Now I'm reading John Lydon's "Rotten: No Irish, No Blacks, No Dogs". Much easier read, well written (should be since his wife is a publishing heiress), interesting so far, explains a lot.

 Re: What are you reading
John Lydon came over well on a tv interview the other day - made a hell of a lot more sense than all the politicians who are supposed to be the sensible ones.
