 Re: Recent Gigs
Wot he said. A reviewer who thinks the gig's more important than his own verbal posturing? It'll never catch on. Mick

Poor posture aside, don't you want to know what kind of shoes he wore?

 Re: Recent Gigs
I forgot to mention that Wolfmother were one of the support bands at Melbourne - after the recent Stockport weekend I gave them a miss as I had a rugby match to go to and knew I'd be seeing them with AC/DC. I have to to admit they are one of the worst live bands I have ever heard - I was very disappointed. What I've heard on record seemed very Led Zep-ish but live it was like the worst of Black Sabbath sung by a poor Geddy Lee impersonator together with a lot of wibbling. I was in a minority as the band went down very well with many of the crowd but I simply wasn't impressed at all. Other support bands I saw were Calling All Cars at Melbourne and Shihad at Auckland (We missed the other support at Auckland). They were pleasent enough but not worth making an effort to see again.

 Re: Recent Gigs
i thought Wolfmother were poor this time around, there was no appeal whatsoever which surprised me as i quite liked them the first time i saw them. they've aged badly very quickly

 Re: Recent Gigs
...or maybe, like The Darkness, they weren't that great to begin with.

 Re: Recent Gigs
I think as I get older it becomes harder for folks in the heavy blues rock genre to burn my burger - I liked bits of The Darkness - but catching a recording of Led Zep from Swedish TV in 69 on Sky the other day put it all in to perspective - the best sounds came from the late 60's early 70's - and JB rather than EC is God!
I'm just becoming and old folky - someone wake me up when the 22-20s reform.

 Re: Recent Gigs
Well Kiddies last night at Brixton was Steel Panther - not heard of em - 80's hair metal parody (albeit a very convincing one) one album out - they eeked it out for 2 hours - wholly inappropriate lyrics - lots of humour bass player playing the song whilst looking into a diamond encrusted mirror while flicking his hair - they have song from all of you favourite hair metal bands - one sounds like Bon Jovi one like Motley crue a bit of Mr Big - they videoed it it - bound to be out later in the year - go buy it - the tears wont stop falling - remember Spinal Tap - this is one for the next generation - they were once a Cover Band playing the Viper Rooms at week ends now watch em go - oh i forgot the props - 40/50 blow up dolls thrown into the crowd foam hands and ladies exposing themselves to the band

 Re: Recent Gigs
Sue is going to see them in Sheffield (might be tonight) - I don't know if she knows they are a parody .... she says she does but she also thinks WASP are not a parody
