 Re: Recent Gigs
We thought it was very cool when we spied Mick Box on the first night of the MTH Hammy run.
Then the next night we ran into Jimmy Page....

Never got to see JP, I did meet the charming Mick Jones on the Tuesday night. a true fan who'd really enjoyed what he'd just watched, so he said

 Re: Recent Gigs
I forget which night it was, but I had an end seat and Mick Jones spent half the gig standing right next to me in the aisle. The security lady asked him to move and find his seat a few times, but he just looked at her and stood his ground.

 Re: Recent Gigs
Korpiklaani last week. Some good music from Finland. Better party to follow. I suppose it was as stated to me, folk metal, something I did not expect to enjoy but thoroughly did. Audience a bit out there, alot of animal skins (real deal), warrior painted faces, and black leather kilts. But I'll try anything once. I think I would try this one again.

 Re: Recent Gigs
haha yeah pretty much so. I went with a friend and his observation described it best "we and the bartenders are the only normal looking people here". I will add that the opener I went to see also looked normal, as well met Bill Zebub of film/radio and he had pants on too.

 Re: Recent Gigs
I've been running a bit crazy for the past two months and haven't had much time on here. Work has been insane, and I had to go to the UK for a week with my daughter for a university interview. While I was there, I saw Darrell Bath do a gig in Camden. He was in great form. He did about an hour set with a full band. I was really impressed. This was the first time I've ever seen him live. Very entertaining in a bluesy, Stonsey way. After a break, the same band (with a change in bass players) came back on a backed a guy doing Bob Dylan songs for two sets. It was surprisingly good. Darrell played lead guitar for these sets and was really good, interpreting some of the songs in an interesting way. It was not a "mellow" Dylan set.

 Re: Recent Gigs
i know most of you guys aren't crazy about him but Axl Rose's show was absolutely incredible last night , and so was his band ! i was blown away , got home about 3 in the morning .. rocket queen , jungle , stuff off chinese democracy (under-rated classic) was epic , the cover of riff raff and so much more , i'm just telling you the energy this guy and his band had was jaw dropping ..

 Re: Recent Gigs
no mis type above, The Rollin' Stoned are a very good Stones tribute band and we went to see them in North London last night. They played a good set right around from Not Fade Away/ Carol type songs, through Exile to Miss You (the only one I didn't like although they did a good copy of the Stones own version. Many of the hits and some slightly unusual ones. Recommended.
They are on at the Borderline (20th ?) in January.

 Re: Recent Gigs
it was near the end - when they did Honky Tonk Women. "Mick" asked for some girls to join them on stage ....then "Brian" insisted "the lady in the anarak" joined them - so she did. See it here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QqkAV3ZKXtcG
