A fabulously raucous version of "Wang Dang Doodle", a bonus track on the Big Beat re-issue of The Rationals' debut album.

I'm listening to a comp I made of early 70's AM songs. The type of songs that would come out of my parents AM radio before school.

Last five songs
Oh Babe, What Would You Say - Hurricane Smith
Brandy (You're A Fine Girl - Looking Glass
Sweet City Woman - Stampeders
Lonely Days - Bee Gees
Arizona - Mark Lindsay

I'm sure this little trip in the way back machine will be short lived and I'll be using Christmas money to buy some Psyclone Rangers later today.

The Hurricane Smith song really makes me think of my Mom and getting ready for school. I still remember quite a bit of the lyrics! :)

During the family Christmas festivities I was listening to 'A Very She & Him Christmas' by She & Him (Zooey Deschanel & M. Ward). It is very laid back and cruisy with a stripped down sound, and as Christmas albums go highly recommended.

It isn't like you need Christmas songs with snow in them to set the mood. Jimmy Buffet will do just fine!

Our Christmas music this year was a nearly 3 hour, 50 song extravaganza that was on continuous play when Christmas music was required. Rev Horton Heat, Brian Setzer, Twisted Sister, TSO and a couple cherry picked songs thrown on top. I have to say that the Twisted Sister Christmas disc when listened to as a stand alone is a little monotonous. However, it works excellent in a sampler on random play.

I actually had to remove the Twisted Sister disc for same reason, it does not work with a full play through, every song sounds the same. Mix it up and every song on it stands out in the mix and sounds much better.
