In The Summertime-Derek Sherinian, starts off well, but not enough background bass, then goes away from the simplicity of the original, which made it so good

Wow. Someone spiked his orange juice with some LSD. I love it. I've never heard of this guy before. Some of the comments say he used to strive for a Sinatra sound? I can't believe that, judging by the tunes.

Which album do you recommend as a starting point? I've sampled them on amazon and I like some of their stuff.

This guys always been guitar driven - even his 'balladeer' tunes - have twang grunt and a little distortion.

I just love whatever he does - bit like some other dude round these parts.

If you have 6 minutes free give this a listen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sR0BmYUlms

3.43 it kicks off - 5.00 it blasts off.

And by contrast - from a farm shed outside Sheffield...

All,

Dee Snider has an album out this month called Dee Does Broadway. Here's the video for Mack The Knife:

http://music-mix.ew.com/2012/05/01/dee-snider-mack-the-knife-video/

The emcee at the start of the video is Eric Nally from Foxy Shazam, who I am seeing on Sunday night in Portland ME.
