Is Manasas the band with Steven Stills?

Yep. Always thought the first Manassas album was something of a minor classic. Last year Rhino (or Ryko - forget which) released "Pieces" , a set of outtakes, unused tracks etc. It ain't half bad, although I suppose that as relates to some of the folks who frequent this board, the last several tracks should carry a "bluegrass" warning. Some very capable mandoline playing from Chris Hillman. Love the stuff in moderation myself. The track I spun is a very short latin tinged instrumental featuring way cool playing from Joe Lala (percussion) and Al Perkins (steel gtr.). Kinda makes you forget the dreary winter for a short spell. Thanks for the kind comments, Rick.

had a Beatles day in the car yesterday as i drove to Liverpool for a meeting.

Beatles For Sale, Revolver and Abbey Road kept me company and sane.

on the way home the car broke down in Blackburn, but not down one of the 4,000 holes, i simply ran out of petrol

I think Mike wanted to take the scenic route to keep the CDs playing.
