and if you played Willie they'd most probably double their crowd as so many of us would travel to see you

With my lumbago playing up these days I better drop back to the defence ...... Or maybe even goals since our keeper has walked away anyway

By the time "Rangers" get back into the SPL Wheels will be around 85, which when I think about it isn't to far away.

Robbie Savage offers to come out of retirement and play for Rangers for free... So that's Robbie, oor Wullie, who else wants a game...? I'll play if I can be centre-forward...! Celtic...? Fancy a game...? Do they have goalposts if not can someone bring a couple of woolly jumpers...? http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news/sava ... 08210.html

Re: macfootball, for all post on the scottish game (part 2)
Well first game for the new Rangers this afternoon Brechin in the Ramsdens Cup then a new life in the 3rd division of Scottish football begins I work most weekends but when I am off I will be going to show my support wherever possible. Though it may not be ideal it's life and we have to get on with it. We have been punished more than enough for the actions of a few I hope Murray and Whyte get what's coming to them but there are plenty good genuine people out there who have suffered as a consequence of their actions. It time to draw a line in the sand and get on with things.
While Savages idea may not be the best for the club at the time I believe it was genuine and at least he was prepared to stand up and be counted. Ally McCoist has conducted himself with great dignity throughout and credit must go to all who have stuck by us not least Lee McCulloch who had options to triple his current sallery but instead opted to stay on eating a fraction of what he could. There will be plenty more like him WE WILL BE BACK
As for the turkeys who voted for Christmas especially rolly pollys lawell and lemon (who spearheaded the witch hunt) I hope they get all they deserve they will miss us before we miss then. Several clubs will go to the wall the SPL will be a boring league and the fickle Celtic fans will abandon them in their droves. Rangers fans on the other hand don't do walking away and I for one will be happy to be amongst those who stick by us and watch us rise from the ashes to become the greatest club in the land once more leaving our short sites sectarian neighbours in our wake.

Re: macfootball, for all post on the scottish game (part 2)
The potential financial struggles of higher league clubs apart, I presume that this means that every Rangers away game will be a sellout, at least of the away allocation. (With the possible exception of Queen's Park, although at least they mean you still get an away local derby in a large ground as some sort of approximation of familiarity).

Best of luck Willie.
I think a few SPL teams will feel the financial pinch, and regret what's what. A few more titles for Celtic but they won't mean a thing to anyone but the clueless.

Re: macfootball, for all post on the scottish game (part 2)
Yes Willie a new begining as a local derby with Queens park I'm more than sure it will sell out with the Rangers support filling that ground, and we can always draw Celtic in the league and Scottish cups and what a joy that would be to knock them out while being a 3rd division club. Onwards and upwards.

Re: macfootball, for all post on the scottish game (part 2)
well we managed to win yesterday albeit after extra time
I am under no illusions we will be automatically promoted year on year....this is a hard league and we are a shadow of the team who started last season
i could live without drawing celtic in the scottish cup .....we are a far bigger (and more honest) club than our biggitted neighbours with the shameful history but i feel that at this present moment we would not beat them and i dont want our noses rubbed in the dirt more than they have been alrready

Re: macfootball, for all post on the scottish game (part 2)
Here is one from the clueless....................
That time of year is here again The scarf gets dusted down From Glasgow Cross to Paradise ...The Tims walk tall and proud A sea of glorious green and white With Champions flags held high Anticipation, nervousness For this crucial Euro tie Memories of Nakamura Jinky and McNeil Henrik, Sutton and Big John Of Boruc doing cartwheels The media have written us off Helsinki are no mugs They're halfway through their season now And much fitter than us But Lenny's reassured the fans We're ready for this mob You'll Never Walk Alone gets sung The game has now kicked off The Bhoys have started really well We've had most of the ball Ledley, Hooper and wee Forrest Come close to a goal A crowd of 50,000 strong Create a brilliant scene Shouting 'til there throats are dry COME ON YOU BHOYS IN GREEN! The second half gets under way Disaster - that mob score! But do the faithful sit and moan? No, we stand and roar The twelfth man is now on his feet And like many times before The troops in the hoops reward the fans As Hooper and Charlie score It's constant attack from Celtic And every songs been sung The referee blows for full time The Bhoys have won 2-1 All in all, we must be pleased We got what we were seeking It could be so much worse of course We could be playing Brechin!
