 Re: What are you reading
Helter Skelter, The True Story of the Manson Murders, by Vincent Bugliosi. Still probably the best book written on the subject, since Bugliosi was the prosecutor of the case and really sticks close to the facts. People who like murder and crime novels will enjoy this book, because he very meticulously goes through all the steps taken to build up the case, without editorializing or assigning motives that were never there.

Are you an Audie Murphy fan? I'ld rather watch David Niven in an old war movie than Audie Murphy. Personally I thought John Wayne and Gregory Peck won WWII. And any other conflict they happen to participate in.

Talk about how influential the Beatles were. I would love to have a dollar for every pair of glasses like Lennons bought around that time.

 Re: What are you reading
Seven Ages of Britain. Although credited to David Dimbleby he only writes the introduction, with the chapters themselves penned by historians. If you like your history light and entertaining, but informative you'll enjoy this. Some great photos in it too.
If you're a serious historian there probably isn't much you don't already know, but it's still a decent read.
Didn't get to see the TV programme. Anyone know if it's worth stumping up for the dvd?

 Re: What are you reading
I just got the book Black Monk Time by Thomas Shaw of The Monks from the library. Has anyone else read it? I also found a DVD - Monks: The Transatlantic Feedback by Dietmar Post - still waiting for that to arrive. Has anyone seen it?
