Liverpool stopped singing about it because it took two disasters for them to realise how stupid they were to do this in the first place.

So it's ok in England to sing about people being killed in an air crash as long as you don't mention religion? WTF.

Rtm,

Celtic supporters have and never have sang about killing people, so how can "we" move on? Celtic supporters have never put down anyones religion, they have never once in there history sang about killing Protestants. You seem to think it's all tit for tat, we say something, Rangers fans say something.

I don't think anyone listens to anything that is said on here unless they agree with it. I have told everyone what Rangers fans sing about, check yourself, they are currently under investication once again and could be kicked out of Football in Europe because of it. Bigtory in Football came to us in red white and Blue.

so all this talk of sectarianism between Rangers and Celtic is just one way traffic and Celtic are the injured party?
oh, in that case, i apologise.

the impression i get from this thread is that it's Protestant versus Catholic and the football is a by product.

not wanting to contradict a fellow bhoy and not defending our cousins in blue, I can name quite a few tunes - but I've moved on.

Maybe you have moved on but I don't know any Celtic songs that call for people to be killed or mock those who have died. Has UEFA ever stepped in and told Celtic to stop singing their songs? Again, I don't recall this.

I think some people on here don't know the difference between religion and Politics, The IRA killed Catholics and the British Army kill their own soldiers, protestant one's to. There are still people who believe that the battle of the boyne was between Protestants and Catholics, not true they were mixed on both sides.

Basically RTM, if Britain hadn't done the dirty on the Irish after the first world war then I believe things wouldn't be so bad between Celtic and Rangers. No british Monarch has visited Ireland since it was partioned, that shows you how much they care.

Interestingly enough tomorrows Royal wedding is also a dress rehearsal for the Queens funeral, and 18 days after the wedding the Queen will visit Ireland, do they know something we don't?

Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh stayed in Hillsborough Castle during their visit to Northern Ireland as part of the Golden Jubilee tour of the United Kingdom in 2002

perhaps not, but you did say
celtic rocksfm wrote:

so, taking a step back from my moving on down 'The One Road' ("soon they'll be no protestants at all") whilst wearing my 'Broad Black Brimmer' ("A holster that's been empty many a day - but not for long") but I'll soon be 'roamin in the gloamin' ("And when the music stops, @$%&! King Billy and John Knox") .......oh there's plenty more - you ever been to a Wolfe Tones gig?

but on a more pressing matter, so the Queen of Britannia wants to lift up her petticoats and skip over our fourty shades, not the greatest idea - and still not welcome - and here's just one example why, we've just commemorated the Derryveagh evictions around these parts - when landlord John George Adair sent 200 soldiers and police into the surrounding townlands, with the force of the thrones law behind him, to throw people out of their homes "swapping Gaelic eyesores for imported Scottish sheep" and 47 families, over 250 people including 149 children were dragged from their homes (which were then burnt and tumbled) and literately thrown into the road - most of them became destitute on the roads or inside the workhouse - tis but one tiny example.

you see some things just cannot and should never be forgotten.

Now, anyone want to talk football PLEASE....
