I would appreciate reviews of all the above shows mentioned.

I didn't review the Gilder / Sweeney Todd show because I was so disgusted at my bad judgement... it was fairly excruciating.

This was your classic example of a washed-up weenie still treading the boards for no apparent good reason. The band was some pick-up outfit from Vancouver... no original members besides NG... there was a 10-minute (!!) drum solo, FFS... they did a cover of 'Highway Star' (??)... and 'Hot Child In The City' was so obviously the high point of the show that they thought they'd better play it twice (!?). Then there was the sad spectacle of Nick wandering around the room afterward, almost begging people to have their picture taken with him.

This guy shouldn't need to do this... he has some big writing credits from the 80s... 'The Warrior' and 'Rated X' to name just a couple... and I believe 'HCITC' was the biggest selling single for Chrysalis Records (sorry, Ian).

There but for the grace etc etc...

So, when are you going to post the photo of you with Nick?

My next gig will be The First Church of the Sacred Silversexual's David Bowie extravaganza at Kimo's in San Francisco November 18th. My son is the guitarist - he's got Ronson's licks down pat. This is what law students do in their spare time?

Just thought I'd bump this up as the gig is this evening and I'm stoked!

blow Lemmy a kiss for me. Enjoy!

I can't see Lemmy being to pleased at the sight of Mr McKenzie blowing him kisses.

My ticket was right at the back in the middle of a load of hairy blokes, so I passed on the kisses.

UK Subs with Charlie Harper were on first and very good. Shamefully, I'm not overly familiar with their work. Although I'd heard a few of the songs before I couldn't tell you what they were but they were good, so i just bought a CD to catch up.

Anti-Nowhere League next up. Love this band, and Animal is great frontman even if he is a bit too old to still be an angry young punk.
Can't remember everything but a few of the old classics were Snowman, Woman, So What, We Are The League, Streets of London, I Hate People.

And the headliners:
WE’RE MOTORHEAD – WE PLAY ROCK N ROLL !!
As ever, they did just what it says on the tin, and very loud they did it too. Every time I see Motorhead, I think - I'm another year older, so no headbanging. I usually get about three or four songs in and then start making a tit of myself. But this time they opened with Bomber, so I kicked off straight away. In a way I suppose it's exercise 'cause I ended up dripping with sweat and my t-shirt soaking. What I don't understand is those who stayed sat down. At a Motorhead gig? Val Doonican foot-tappers in disguise?
But enough of that - some of what i remember was Stay Clean, Metropolis, Over The Top, The Chase Is Better Than The Catch, Get Back In Line (from the latest album - The World Is Yours - the new ones sounded good so i just bought the CD), Iron Fist, Orgasmatron, Going To Brazil, Killed By Death, Whorehouse Blues (time for a breather), Ace Of Spades, Overkill. Some others but the McKenzie memory ain't too good these days.

Finished off with a phaal and a few ciders in Saeeds. And a couple of complementary Baileys, which are girlie drinks so I necked them anyway.

Going to see the Kooks on Tuesday in Denver. (Yes, they're named for the Bowie song if you didn't know).

Thought they were good on Letterman a couple of weeks ago:

Will be my first show in more than two years that isn't Ian Hunter or Jesse Malin.
