 Re: obituaries
Sad news. I saw Scruggs in the mid-70s with some of his kids in the Earl Scruggs Revue at a concert in Grand forks at UND. It was really my first venture into live country and bluegrass. They were impressive musicians. RIP.

I think that the noise of thunder from the heavens just might get a bit louder - certainly dirtier.

 Re: obituaries
Everyone already knew, but that's the first official acknowledgement I've seen. So sad.

Man. The Montrose cover of "Good Rockin' Tonight" is one of my all time faves.

 Re: obituaries
A forthcoming obituary which I will be very sad to see. Apparently Levon Helm's family have issued a statement saying that unfortunately he is in the final stages of his long battle with cancer. Apart from being one of the great (and unorthodox) drummers, and a great singer and musician in general, I have always loved the fact that in every video I have seen (especially 'The Last Waltz') and in all his music I have listened to his sheer love of playing that music has shone through and has never seemed to wane. His last two CD's, Dirt Farmer and Electric Farmer, are great. And he was a huge factor in why I love The Band. http://www.arktimes.com/RockCandy/archi ... ith-cancer
