The Beach Boys tonight in The Land the Time Forgot ... Berkeley

They're still waiting for the Bealtes to reunite Berkeley. Gotta bless the poor lost souls.

Looks like a Peter Gabriel show @ HP Pavilion the week before we head to the UK in October.

I'll be seeing Chuck Prophet twice next weekend for free. As an added bonus, the headliner @ Sunday's Haight Ashbury Street Fair is The Tubes. What a wild scene awaits! 8)

My next gig is Tom Petty in Cork, Ireland, next Friday - never seen him before so I'm hoping it will be a worthwhile trip. He gets good reviews and I like what I've heard so it should be good.

TP has an excellent show on Sirus/XM called Buried Treasure where he plays lots of obscure stuff and stuff that influenced him. I really enjoy the show and any insights that he adds. Highly recommended. The complete polar opposite is Bob Dylans Theme Time radio which as much as I try to listen to, I simply can not

The Scorpions at Shoreline on Saturday.

The Scorpions are now in the third year of their farewell tour. I just hope it doesn't turn into a 30 year farewell tour like The Who.

The lake down the street from my house puts on summer concerts every year I have only been to one and that was Brian Setzer. This years lineup includes Grand Funk Railroad, Three Dog Night and Leon Russell. Of course I will neglect to mention that Hanson will also be there

I feel sorry for Hanson - can't be fun being bombarded by a video stalker until you buy them a Jamaican honeymoon...
(Truth be told, at this point in their career I suspect Hanson are glad of the attention , not to mention the publicity).

Where is Chuck playing besides the HSF?

See you there. I like it over by the soundboard because its not as crushed as the center of the street.

According to his website, "Sat Jun 09 Festival of Art, Wine, and Music Novato Grant and Redwood CA USA Chuck Prophet & The Mission Express. Show at 4:00 PM."

Event website gives details and the music line-up page there shows that Lydia Pense & Cold Blood are on after Chuck, which makes it doubly fab in my book. Wish I was there...

I thought Tinted Windows was a brilliant band and I hope they continue the project. The world needs more power pop. And more bands who play Buzzcocks songs.

Damn right 8)

After seeing three bands in a month I have no upcoming gigs.

Wish I had seen Tom Petty though...

<Off to find when The Buzzcocks are playing somewhere nearby...>

I think Tom Petty has still to play the the Royal Albert Hall in London - I think he plays there next week, definitely worth seeing him if you can get tickets and get there
