Post Re: The Real English Football Thread, Part 3
As a City fan for over 50 years I know this spate of good fortune won't last, give it a few years and we'll be happy to take part in a Division 2 play off final (against Stockport maybe?)

I can't see too many fans jumping ship to come and support the blues but I can predict more people joining the growing legion of City haters, which'll suit your average 'citizen' just nicely (years of being the underdog doesn't shake off that quickly :) ) Poznan anyone?

(Congratulations to Chelsea, if nothing else it proves City topped the best league in Europe.... oh if only it were that simple, Chelsea aren't even the best team in London)

.

It wasn't a former Liverpool manager overseeing a Carroll goal and making good use of his substitutes, was it ?
It's a bit of a novelty is that;I think.
Wasn't he criticised for selecting Liverpool players ?
( I sometimes wish I followed the game )

I'm hoping that we win outright, and don't have to go to the lottery of the penalty shoot-out. And lottery is the right word - when it comes to England's performance in these things, the odds of us winning are depressingly low.

Happydude,

I think England will qualify but they have no chance of winning it, Germany and Spain look too good . Am going for Germany though as I think they have a bit more up front.

Don't get me wrong, I never meant to suggest England were going to win it - I was merely saying that in the knock-out stages I hope it doesn't come down to penalties.

Good luck anyway, England have to take confidence from the fact they beat a good Swedish side and coming from behind to do it.
