[Jul 06] A new live Mott The Hoople CD was issued by Angel Air on 6 July 2006. 'Live Fillmore West, San Francisco' (UK Angel Air SJPCD 226) combines 1970 and 1971 recordings at the legendary venue with a previously unreleased studio track, Wreck of the Liberty Belle.

[Jun 06] Ian Hunter appeared at For The Love of Arthur, a benefit concert for Arthur Lee of Love at the Beacon Theater in New York NY on 23 June 2006. Ian Hunter, Robert Plant, Nils Lofgren, Ryan Adams, Gavin DeGraw, Garland Jeffries, and Yo La Tengo also appeared at the show.
[May 06] Sony in Japan have reissued Ian Hunter, All American Alien Boy and Overnight Angels with 'mini LP' style covers and bonus tracks. These releases have miniature cardboard sleeves will inner sleeves and inserts, just like the original LPs. The bonus tracks are the same as the recent UK and USA reissues.
[May 06] In addition to the Ian Hunter albums, Sony in Japan have reissued the Mott The Hoople albums All The Young Dudes, Mott, The Hoople, Live, and Greatest Hits in 'mini-LP' style sleeves. The five discs are available individually and as a special promotional box set. [Oct 05] The live DVD filmed at the Astoria in London in 2004 was released in the USA in October 2005 by Secret Records. [Oct 05] Ian Hunter was given the Classic Songwriter award, one of nine awards given at the Classic Rock Roll Of Honour, Classic Rock Magazine’s inaugural award ceremony. The ceremony was held on 4 Oct 2005 at Cafe De Paris in London. Other award winner were Lemmy Kilmister (Living Legend), Deep Purple (Classic Album), Judas Priest (Metal Guru), Arthur Brown (Showman), Billy Idol (Comeback of the Year), The Answer (Best New Band), Neil Warnock (V.I.P.), and Tommy Vance( Inspiration). Ian Hunter's debut album was also in contention for the Readers Poll Reissue Of The Year.

[Jun 04] Ian Hunter has contributed a track to Por Vida, a tribute album to Alejandro Escovedo. The double CD is due in stores on 27 July 2004, and features a new Ian Hunter studio recording of the Alejandro Escovedo song One More Time. The CD is being issued by Or Music, and includes contributions from John Cale, Lucinda Williams, The Jayhawks, The Minus 5, Son Volt, The Cowboy Junkies, Chris Stamey, Bob Neuwirth, Charlie Sexton and many others. Alejandro Escovedo has recorded several of Ian Hunter's songs over the years, including Irene Wilde and I Wish I Was Your Mother. Ian and Alejandro both performed at the Waltz V in Chicago in March 2003, and a month later Alejandro was stricken with Hepatitis C. In September 2003, Ian headlined a benefit concert for Alejandro at the Mercury Lounge in New York City. Regarding One More Time, Ian says: 'We did it at Rick Tedesco's studio with Andy York on guitar / bass / vocals, Steve Holley on drums, and me on vocals. I chose the song - I fancied doing a rocker.'
[May 04] The long-awaited, much anticipated expanded version of Mott The Hoople's Live album was released in the UK by Sony Legacy on 31 May 2004 (UK Columbia 516051 2). The deluxe double-CD package devotes an entire disc to each of two legendary concerts, recorded at the Hammersmith in London in December 1973 and at the Uris Theater on Broadway in May 1974.

[Mar 03] On 8 March 2003, Ian Hunter performed at the Waltz V benefit show at Cabaret Metro in Chicago IL. Ian played Dead Man Walking and Wash Us Away, accompanied by Andy York, James Mastro, and the Nick Tremulis Orchestra. At the end of the show, Ian also led the entire cast of musicians through a rousing version of All The Young Dudes. Other performers included Graham Parker, Alejandro Escovedo, Billy Corgan, David Johansen, Mavis Staples, James Chance, and Ivan Julian.
[May 02] Ian Hunter toured the UK in May 2002, playing 15 dates in 16 days. The tour was a special one, because Mick Ralphs played guitar with Ian for the first time since their Mott The Hoople days. [Apr 02] Music from all five decades of rock and roll was featured at A Salute to Fifty Years of Rock and Roll, a benefit for the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame Museum's Education Programs. The benefit took place at the Cleveland State University Convocation Center on 13 April 2002. Ian Hunter performed 'Dead Man Walking', 'All the Young Dudes' and 'Cleveland Rocks' at the event.

[Nov 01] Ian Hunter completed a North American Tour in November 2001, his first North American solo tour in more than ten years. The tour included 16 dates on the East Coast, Midwest, and Canada.
